graphic designer

(32 hours, paid position)

Start date: 4 January 2027

affect lab is an award-winning creative studio and research practice. In collaboration with an international artistic network, we use design research, immersive storytelling and experimental field work to inspire a more inclusive future. We are guided by principles of care and empathy for local culture and community with a focus on creating positive social impact.

We are looking for a passionate self-starter who loves graphic design for a new role.

Your Profile

You want to create some positive social change in the world. You thrive in a busy studio with multiple projects on the go at the same time. You’re comfortable multi-tasking across different mediums (digital, print, motion, event and exhibition design). You can switch between multiple projects on any given day. You enjoy experimenting with new design techniques and formats (analogue and digital). Gender politics is close to your heart (or you’re super curious about it). You love stories and you see the power they have to spark new conversations in the public domain and how graphic design can contribute to that. You get how design is a tool for inclusivity, to make everyone feel seen and heard. You are a great communicator and you know how to prioritise tasks. You thrive in small teams. You respect the need for deadlines. You are proactive and can work independently if needed.

  • Collaborate with printers and other vendors to ensure that digital, print and packaging designs are produced to the highest standards.

  • Work closely with freelance designers and illustrators who work on a project-by-project basis with the studio.
